RENOLIT- CRAMLINGTON, located in the North East of England, specialises in the manufacture of decorative surfacing materials. The products have been developed to meet the highest standards of design, quality, service and performance. Manufacturing decorative PVC rolls varying in widths up to 2,000mm, and from 100-400 microns thick, Renolit supply these materials into three main market sectors: furniture components, exterior windows and doors, and the consumer electronics industry.

RENOLIT- CRAMLINGTON is actively involved in working to protect the environment, and to develop and improve it further. Their commitment to achieving this goal is demonstrated by the recent purchase of a TRIA granulator to size reduce their start-up and edge trim waste.

The TRIA model that met their recycling requirements is an XT90-42 with specialised 900mm wide in-feed chute, as shown. Sheets are auto-fed into the granulator via the variable speed twin-traction control, an area in which TRIA specialise. The recycling production cell was commissioned during September; already, the back log of waste has been size reduced and is slowly being introduced back into the production process.

Stephen Burgess, Renolit-Cramlington Project Engineer, headed the project and is delighted with the cell’s performance:

“Ease of operation of the XT90-42, and the uniform, dust-free recycled material, has meant that introducing the recycled material back into the production process has been problem free”.

Stephen also emphasised their environmental policy; to reprocess material where possible and not to use landfill. The energy efficient design of the TRIA granulator further enhances RENOLITs environmental policy.
